Gearbox supply and support for the trade

We have supplied reconditioned exchange gearboxes, used units and parts to workshops throughout the South Island since 1984. If a manual gearbox is the job you would rather hand on, or the part you cannot source, this is what we are here for.

Overnight freight to most of the South Island. An exchange gearbox dispatched from Christchurch is generally on your bench the next morning, which is usually faster than waiting for us to have the vehicle - and it keeps the job, and the customer, with you.

Why the shelf matters to you more than to us

Your customer's tolerance for being without a vehicle is the real constraint on this job. A rebuild quoted at several weeks loses work; a reconditioned unit on your bench tomorrow does not. Holding an ever expanding range of new and reconditioned gearboxes is the whole reason we can answer the phone with a date rather than an estimate.

Send us the box, keep the vehicle

Plenty of workshops pull the gearbox themselves and send us just the unit. You keep the vehicle, the hoist time and the customer relationship; we do the part we are specialists in. The unit comes back overhauled and ready to fit. For a lot of general workshops that is the most profitable way to handle a gearbox job.

Ring the person who will do the work

There is no call centre and no ticket queue. You get someone who has been building gearboxes for decades, and if the answer is that the fault you are describing is not the gearbox at all, you will be told that too. That is not costing us a sale, it is the reason the same workshops have been ringing for years.

Insurance and warranty work

We are approved repairers for extended mechanical warranty insurers, so where your customer has cover in place we are able to work within it rather than sending you elsewhere.
